A verified date, not a guess
A dataset moves to the top of this page only when we have a last-updated date confirmed by the provider. Until then, the listing shows the provider's stated schedule, and the fallback list above sorts by that schedule: daily and on-ingest first, then weekly, then ad hoc, alphabetical within each group.
A stated schedule is not a guarantee. Several of LAW.co's schedules depend on conditions it states in the catalog, such as its ingestion worker running, its monthly enrichment budget, or a third-party API key being configured. Read them as how the pipeline is designed to run, not as proof it ran.
Keeping your copy in sync
- 1
Read the metadata
Dataset metadata at
https://api.data.co/v1/datasets/{slug}is designed to carry the last-updated date once it is verified. - 2
Compare before re-pulling
Store the date you last synced and fetch records again only when it moves, which keeps you inside your plan's quotas.
- 3
Prefer narrow queries
Filter record searches by date or jurisdiction instead of re-reading everything. Bulk export is not open for any LAW.co dataset yet.
- 4
Let agents check
Over MCP at
https://api.data.co/mcp, an agent can read the same metadata before deciding whether to search.
Update questions
Why don't any listings show a last-updated date?
Data.co has not yet verified one with LAW.co. Dates will appear once the provider's metadata endpoint is connected, rather than being estimated from its schedule.
Which plan do I need to receive updates?
Updates are part of the dataset, not an add-on. Free ($0) covers standard-tier data, Pro ($149/mo) and Business ($799/mo) add premium datasets, and Enterprise covers contract-only ones.
Do AI case summaries update on the same schedule as opinions?
No. Summaries are generated in their own daily batch, limited by LAW.co's enrichment budget, so a newly ingested opinion may not have a summary yet.
Will I be notified of changes?
Notifications are not offered yet. For now, compare the dataset metadata on a schedule that suits your project.
