We run it. You own it, and you hold the keys.
Managed services put Data.co engineers in charge of operating your private AI and data infrastructure, wherever it runs. The environment stays yours; our access is granted, scoped, logged, and revocable by you.
Operations without handing over the boundary.
Running private AI well takes skills many teams do not have in depth: GPU drivers and serving runtimes, vector indexes, model evaluation, and the security work around all of it. Managed services let you keep the environment, data, and decisions in-house while Data.co does the operational work.
Everything is governed by contract. Scope, response commitments, change windows, and backup objectives (RPO and RTO) are defined per agreement. Our engineers work through access you provision, and every session is recorded in logs you keep.
Five areas, contracted together or separately.
Managed Private AI
Model serving, the AI gateway, RAG, and model updates operated end to end.
Managed Data Infrastructure
Connectors, pipelines, sync schedules, and the databases behind them.
Monitoring
Health, capacity, and alerting across GPUs, services, and data pipelines.
Security and patching
OS, driver, and platform updates applied on an agreed schedule, with hardening reviews.
Backup and recovery
Backups of configuration, indexes, and audit logs, with restores tested on a schedule.
Shared responsibility
A written matrix of what Data.co operates and what stays with your team.
Who does what, by default.
Every contract includes a responsibility matrix. This is the usual starting point.
| Area | Data.co | Your team |
|---|---|---|
| Infrastructure health and patching | Operates | Approves change windows |
| Model serving and updates | Operates and proposes | Approves models for production |
| Policies and access rules | Advises and implements on request | Owns and approves |
| Identity and user access | Integrates | Owns the identity provider |
| Data and its classification | Operates pipelines | Owns data and labels |
| Access for Data.co engineers | Uses as granted | Grants, scopes, revokes |
Starting a managed engagement.
- 1
Scope
Agree on services, environments, response commitments, and RPO/RTO in the contract.
- 2
Provision access
Your team creates scoped access for Data.co engineers, with logging you control.
- 3
Baseline
We document the current state, set up monitoring and backups, and close urgent gaps.
- 4
Operate and report
Regular reporting on health, changes, incidents, and capacity.
Four properties of every engineer session.
Operational access is the part of a managed service security teams scrutinize most, so it is designed to be inspected rather than trusted.
| Property | How it works | What you control |
|---|---|---|
| Granted | Accounts are created in your identity provider or bastion, never self-provisioned by Data.co | Who receives access and through which path |
| Scoped | Roles cover the hosts, services, and admin endpoints in the contract, not content stores by default | Role definitions and any expansion for troubleshooting |
| Audited | Sessions and admin actions land in your logs; Control admin actions are also written to its hash-chained audit log | Retention, review cadence, and export to your SIEM |
| Revocable | Disabling the accounts or the access path ends our ability to act, immediately | Timing, with no dependency on Data.co cooperation |
You should always be able to see the work, and take it back.
Regular reports summarize health and capacity trends, changes made and their change records, incidents with root causes and follow-ups, patch levels and exceptions, and restore test results. They are written for two readers: the infrastructure owner who needs to plan, and the auditor who needs evidence that the agreed process was followed.
Exit is planned at the start, not negotiated at the end. Runbooks, configuration, policy repositories, monitoring rules, and architecture notes are kept in locations you own throughout the engagement. When you take operations back, or move them to another provider, the contract defines a handover period with walkthroughs and a final access review that confirms every Data.co credential has been removed.
Questions buyers ask
Does managed services mean our data goes to Data.co?
No. The environment stays where it is. Engineers operate it through access you grant. app.data.co never receives prompts, documents, embeddings, or records.
Can we revoke Data.co's access?
Yes, at any time, through the same mechanisms you used to grant it. The contract defines how operations hand back to your team when access is withdrawn.
What response times do you commit to?
Response and resolution commitments are defined per contract, based on the services and coverage hours you choose.
Can you manage air-gapped environments?
Remote management needs some access path, so fully air-gapped environments are usually supported through on-site or escorted arrangements defined in the contract, or through your team with our guidance.
Can we take operations back in-house later?
Yes. Runbooks, configuration, and documentation are yours, and transition support can be included in the contract.
How is this different from product support?
Support answers questions and fixes defects in Data.co software when you raise them. Managed services means our engineers operate your environment day to day, under a contract that defines scope, authority, and reporting.
What do you need from us to begin?
A named technical owner, an approved access path for our engineers, current architecture and network documentation, and agreement on change windows and escalation contacts. Gaps in any of these become early baseline work.
See it against your own use case.
A 30-minute technical walkthrough, policy simulation on your scenarios, and a deployment recommendation for on-prem, private cloud, or hybrid.
